Ismaily SC’s board of directors will continue its term after efforts to trigger an extraordinary general assembly failed to meet the required threshold.
The move had aimed to unseat the current leadership led by Nasr Abu Al-Hassan, but the process was halted due to insufficient support.
The Ismaili Club Council confirmed in an official statement: “Today, Tuesday, July 8, 2025, is the legal deadline for receiving applications from members of the General Assembly wishing to call for an extraordinary general assembly meeting, in accordance with what was announced on the club’s official website on July 3, 2025, regarding the last date for submitting signatures in accordance with the bylaws and the organizational guide for holding general assemblies.”
“Since the legally required number of signatures to hold the extraordinary general assembly has not been met, the matter is considered procedurally closed.”
The board thanked members who supported them and expressed respect for those who called for change. It reaffirmed its commitment to restoring the club’s stature and resolving the legal and financial issues inherited at the start of its term.
