Ismaily SC’s leadership will remain in place after an attempt to remove the board failed due to low attendance at Tuesday’s extraordinary general assembly.
The meeting, held at the club’s headquarters, aimed to vote on withdrawing confidence from the board led by Nasr Abu Al-Hassan.
Counselor Mohamed Gad, head of the judicial committee overseeing proceedings, confirmed that only 1,583 members attended out of the total 5,081 eligible. The number fell short of the 2,000 members required for the vote to proceed, meaning the current board retains its mandate.
For many fans, the day ended with mixed feelings. Supporters expecting change left disappointed, while others welcomed the continuity.
The Ismaili Board issued an official statement thanking the General Assembly members for their renewed confidence, confirming its continued work until the summer of 2027, having been elected in August 2023.
With stability secured for now, attention will shift back to the pitch, where the club hopes unity off the field will inspire better performances on it.
