A member of the committee tasked with managing Ismaily SC, Mohamed Raouf, has revealed the full scale of the club’s financial woes, confirming that the club’s debts have surpassed 230 million Egyptian pounds.

Ismaily has been grappling with severe financial difficulties for several years, a situation that has led to the suspension of player registrations for the first team.

The club has been unable to register any new signings for three years, a legacy of unresolved debts left by previous administrations.

Speaking to Sada El Balad, Raouf said the committee is working tirelessly to lift the registration ban.

“We are working hard to resolve the registration suspension crisis, and everyone within Ismaily is making an effort, and we will fight until the last moment, but the current situation is not easy at all,” he said.

“We inherited a large legacy from previous boards and accumulated debts, and Ismaily has not been able to register any player for 3 years.

“We have resolved some crises, but the remaining debts owed by Ismaily are very large and exceed 230 million pounds.”

In recent developments, Ismaily appointed Tarek El Ashry as technical director of the first team, following the departure of Algerian coach Miloud Hamdi.

The club currently sits second from bottom in the Egyptian Premier League standings, holding 10 points from 14 matches.
