Ismail Khafi: Morocco forward linked with surprise Raja Casablanca exit to free agency

Ismail Khafi, the Moroccan centre-forward currently at Raja Casablanca, is being linked with a move that would leave him without a club despite having a year left on his contract with the Botola Pro side.

The 30-year-old, who wears the No 9 shirt for Raja, is under contract until 30 June 2027 but could still depart early if the club and player agree to an exit, raising the prospect of him becoming a free agent this summer. His current market value is listed at around €400,000, a figure that may influence whether Raja seek a fee or sanction an early termination.

Khafi only joined Raja in August 2025 from Qadsia SC for a reported €186,000, and a quick separation would mark a sharp turnaround in his return to Moroccan football. In domestic league action across his career in the Botola Pro Inwi, he has accumulated 139 appearances with 38 goals and 14 assists, underlining his experience in the competition.

The Casablanca-born forward has already collected major silverware in Moroccan football, including a league title with AS FAR Rabat in 2022-23. On the international stage, he was part of the Morocco squad that won the African Nations Championship in 2020-21, a success that enhanced his profile within the local market.

For now, Khafi remains contracted to Raja Casablanca, and any move that leaves him without a club would require a resolution of his deal that runs through to the end of the 2026-27 season.
