Ismail Diallo becomes Toulouse’s first summer signing
Toulouse FC have unveiled their first reinforcement of the summer window with the arrival of 22‑year‑old defender Ismail Diallo, just a day after naming Jens Berthel Askou as their new manager.
The promising full‑back joins from Dijon FCO, where he impressed in the National league, helping the club seal the division title and promotion to Ligue 2 BKT.
Diallo, who can play on either side of the back line or even push forward as a wing‑back, is seen as a modern, pacy profile. After coming through the youth ranks at Paris FC and later spells at Nanterre and Paris 13 Atletico, he stepped up in quality this season, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists in 24 outings.
His offensive contribution and athletic edge made him a target for several French and foreign clubs, but he opted to chase his top‑flight ambitions with Les Violets.
Sporting director Viktor Bezhani said: “We recruit a very versatile player, able to play in several positions, ambidextrous and with a huge physical impact. We appreciated his resilience, his excellent attitude in learning and his willingness to improve every day.”
Diallo added: “I am very happy and very proud to join Toulouse. I can’t wait to meet you at the Stadium and give my best to reach our objectives.” He will wear the number 94 shirt, a nod to his home department, Val‑de‑Marne.
