Ismaelo Ganiou emerging as Lens’ next big defensive star
Ismaelo Ganiou, the 21‑year‑old defensive revelation at RC Lens, is starting to turn heads in France and beyond.
After another strong season showcasing his composure, mobility and consistent performances, he has firmly established himself as one of Ligue 1’s most promising young defenders. Lens’ recruitment team once unearthed Abdukodir Khusanov and then Juma Bah, and Ganiou now looks like their newest talented find.
Interest in Ganiou is growing steadily. Marseille have already been scouted his matches several times, but their pursuit remains at the “reporting” stage, with no concrete offer yet on the table. PSG’s recruitment side, led by Luis Campos, are also said to be quietly fond of the young centre‑back, though they have not launched any formal approach so far.
According to reports, the most concrete signals are coming from Germany, where Ganiou’s entourage has already been contacted. His agent, Meissa Ndiaye of Sport Cover, is confident the player can thrive abroad, but the immediate priority for both parties is for Ganiou to stay at Lens and compete in the Champions League next season.
According to Transfermarkt, Ismaelo Ganiou’s current market value is €10,000,000.
