Moroccan midfielder Ismael Saibari is edging closer to a high-profile move to Bayern Munich, with reports indicating that the PSV Eindhoven star will undergo a medical examination in the United States as part of the final steps of the transfer process.

The move would represent one of the biggest transfers involving a Moroccan player this summer and comes after an outstanding season in the Netherlands.

Bayern Closing In on Saibari Deal

Bayern Munich have reportedly been in discussions with Saibari’s representatives for several weeks and are keen to secure his services ahead of the new campaign. The German giants view the midfielder as a key addition to their squad and have pushed forward with plans to complete the transfer.

With personal terms believed to have been agreed, attention has now shifted to finalising the remaining formalities before the deal is officially announced.

Medical Scheduled During World Cup

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Saibari’s medical examination and the completion of all necessary paperwork will take place in the United States.

The arrangement has been made possible because the midfielder is currently in the country with the Moroccan national team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“Ismaël Saibari’s medical examination to finalise his transfer to Bayern Munich will indeed take place in the United States during the World Cup. Other formalities are also expected to be completed at that time. More details coming soon,” Tavolieri wrote on X.

The unique setup is expected to accelerate the process, allowing Bayern Munich to complete the transfer while the player remains focused on international duty.

Reward for Outstanding Season

Bayern’s interest follows Saibari’s exceptional campaign with PSV Eindhoven, where he established himself as one of the most influential players in Dutch football.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a remarkable season, registering 15 goals and eight assists while helping PSV secure the Eredivisie title. His performances also earned him the league’s Player of the Season award, further enhancing his reputation across Europe.

Atlas Lions Counting on Midfield Star

While transfer discussions continue, Saibari remains focused on Morocco’s World Cup campaign. The midfielder is expected to play a central role for the Atlas Lions after being included in the squad by head coach Mohamed Ouahbi.

Morocco have been drawn in Group C alongside Brazil, Scotland and Haiti. The Atlas Lions will begin their tournament against Brazil on June 13 as they aim to build on their historic achievements from previous World Cup appearances.

With a move to Bayern Munich seemingly nearing completion, Saibari enters the tournament as one of Morocco’s most in-form and closely watched players.
