Ismael Saibari praised for helping Jamal Musiala during Bayern Munich win

Ismael Saibari has been praised for his quick response after helping Bayern Munich team-mate Jamal Musiala when the Germany international appeared to lose his balance during Saturday’s 3-1 victory over RB Leipzig.

Saibari noticed Musiala struggling in the closing stages of the match and immediately moved towards him as he appeared close to falling to the ground. The Morocco international helped Musiala lower himself safely before Bayern’s medical staff and other players arrived to assist.

ESPN highlighted the incident and described Saibari’s actions as an example of what it means to be a “true team-mate”. The network praised the speed with which the midfielder reacted after seeing Musiala in difficulty.

TNT also drew attention to the gesture towards Saibari’s new team-mate, saying: “Saibari only joined Bayern this summer and is already showing the qualities he possesses as a person, not just as a footballer.”

The incident came only a few minutes after Saibari had created Musiala’s goal, Bayern’s third of the game. The assist added to an impressive personal debut for the former PSV Eindhoven player, who was making his first appearance for the Bavarian club.

Saibari began the match on the bench and replaced Tom Bischof in the 71st minute. Ten minutes later, he set up Musiala to complete Bayern’s scoring.

Musiala appeared to be affected by the heat during the match and partially lost consciousness. Bayern’s medical staff then carried out the necessary checks on the player, with reports indicating that no serious injury had been identified.

Temperatures in Munich were reported to have risen above 30C during the game, adding to the difficult conditions in which the players were competing.

Saibari’s intervention therefore became one of the notable moments of the match, coming shortly after his contribution to Bayern’s decisive third goal. His response was widely viewed as evidence of his awareness and concern for Musiala, as well as his immediate willingness to help a new team-mate in distress.

The midfielder’s debut consequently featured both a key attacking contribution and a display of sportsmanship, with his actions receiving recognition from ESPN and TNT after Bayern’s win over RB Leipzig.
