Ismaël Koné has become the focus of a transfer battle between AC Milan and Inter Milan after a strong season in Serie A with Sassuolo.
The 23-year-old midfielder, who was initially loaned to Sassuolo by Olympique de Marseille before completing a permanent move, has quickly established himself as a key figure in the Italian top flight.
His performances have attracted attention from several clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to journalist Matteo Moretto, both Milan clubs are closely monitoring the player’s development, with a potential transfer being considered at the end of the season. While no formal negotiations have begun, interest from both sides is understood to be genuine.
At AC Milan, the interest appears particularly strong. Head coach Massimiliano Allegri is reported to be an admirer of Koné’s playing style, viewing him as a strong option to reinforce the midfield ahead of next season.
Koné has featured prominently for Sassuolo throughout the current campaign, starting 29 of his 30 Serie A appearances.
His energy and consistency in midfield have made him one of the club’s most reliable performers.
In addition to his work rate, the Canadian international has also contributed offensively, scoring six goals during the season.
His all-round performances have highlighted his development and growing influence within the squad.
Sassuolo secured his services on a long-term deal, with the midfielder contracted until June 2030.
The club are believed to value him at around €30 million, reflecting both his importance to the team and the level of interest he is generating in the transfer market.
With both Milan clubs now tracking his progress, Koné is expected to be one of the names to watch during the upcoming transfer window, as competition for his signature begins to take shape.
