Ismaël Bennacer: The Algerian speaks about Ibrahimovic's professionalism

A few days after praising Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s impact on the squad, Ismaël Bennacer once again highlighted the influence of the Swedish striker. Speaking on the RMC Sport program “Le Vestiaire,” the Algerian international admitted he has been deeply impressed by the professionalism and standards of the former FC Barcelona forward.

For Bennacer, sharing a dressing room with Ibrahimovic has been a unique experience. “This is the first time I’ve really been around a great player. The demands he has are incredible. I’ve never seen anything like it,” he said. The AC Milan midfielder emphasized that the veteran’s mentality sets him apart, even at 38 years of age.

During the interview, Bennacer offered concrete examples of Ibrahimovic’s relentless expectations. According to him, the Swedish icon demands perfection in every situation. “Sometimes he takes it a bit too far. For example, I’ll pass him the ball, and if he loses it, it’ll be my fault. Or if I dribble past a player to pass to him, he’ll tell me: faster, faster… He’s 38 years old, I respect him. I know that in everything he says to me, there are things to take and things to leave. He makes me laugh too. He’s a great guy. He does us a lot of good,” Bennacer explained.

Despite the strict standards, Bennacer clearly appreciates the opportunity to learn from one of the game’s most accomplished figures. Ibrahimovic, who has enjoyed success across Europe and served as captain of Sweden, brings invaluable experience to the Milan dressing room. His winning mentality and leadership appear to be having a positive influence on the younger players.

For the African champion, training alongside such a seasoned professional is a golden opportunity to grow both technically and mentally. Bennacer seems fully aware that exposure to Ibrahimovic’s mindset can only elevate his own performance. The Algerian midfielder remains captivated by the former striker’s intensity and drive, qualities that continue to inspire the squad as Milan push forward in their campaign.
