Algerian international Islam Slimani nominated Morocco, Egypt, and Ivory Coast as potential champions in the ongoing African Cup of Nations.
Slimani, known for his striking prowess, expressed that the Africa Cup of Nations is the most challenging tournament he has participated in, attributing its difficulty to the fierce competition and the strength of the participating teams.
He stated, “For me, it is the toughest cup in the world. Playing against African teams is extremely difficult.
We face good teams, and most of the time, we encounter exceptional players.
For me, I have little experience, but when I was younger, it was extremely tough.”
Regarding his predictions for the title, Slimani highlighted that, in his view, two or three teams will compete with Algeria for the championship.
These teams include Ivory Coast, Morocco, and Egypt.
The Algerian international considered the mentioned teams to have outstanding players capable of achieving results that could lead them to clinch the trophy.
It’s worth noting that the Algerian national football team is set to face Angola today, Monday, at the “Stade de la Paix” in Bouaké, Ivory Coast.
As the tournament progresses, Slimani’s insights add anticipation to the competition, recognizing the prowess of these football powerhouses vying for continental glory.
