CR Belouizdad is in active discussions to bring Algerian international Islam Slimani back to the club, more than a decade after his departure. Slimani, currently without a club, has been approached by the club’s president, Mehdi Rabehi, who is eager to secure the striker’s return during the ongoing summer transfer window.

According to sources close to the negotiations, Rabehi recently reached out to Slimani to gauge his interest in rejoining CR Belouizdad.

A new financial offer was presented to the veteran forward, which has reportedly been met with a positive response.

Rabehi is said to have asked Slimani to propose his terms, indicating that the club is keen to finalize a deal.

However, Slimani’s return to the club is contingent upon the absence of any substantial offers from European teams.

If no significant European opportunities arise, the 35-year-old striker may don the CR Belouizdad jersey once again, 11 years after his initial departure to Sporting Lisbon in 2013.

Slimani’s potential return comes at a time when CR Belouizdad is looking to strengthen its attacking options.

The club has already seen a reshuffling in its forward line, with Aymen Mahious emerging as a key player.

Mahious, who joined from Switzerland, has quickly impressed head coach Corentin Martins with his performances.

In a recent friendly match against newly-promoted Ligue 1 side Olympique Akbou, Mahious scored twice, showcasing his readiness for the upcoming season.

His sharpness in front of goal has signaled to Martins that he can rely on the forward for the challenges ahead.

Mahious’s rise to prominence has provided some relief to the club, especially following the departure of star striker Wamba.

The young forward’s impressive displays have reassured the team’s management that they have found a suitable replacement.

As the club prepares for its next match against AS Douanes, Mahious is expected to take center stage, stepping into the role previously held by Oussama Darfalou, who was released after a disappointing season.

CR Belouizdad’s search for a formidable strike force doesn’t end with Slimani and Mahious. T

he club is also in the market for an additional African striker as the summer transfer window draws to a close. Discussions are ongoing, with the club aiming to bolster its attacking options ahead of the new season.

The goal is to build an even more potent attack than last season, ensuring that the team remains competitive on all fronts.

As the transfer window narrows, the focus remains on whether Slimani will choose to return to the club where he made his name.

His potential comeback, coupled with the rise of Mahious, could provide CR Belouizdad with the firepower needed to achieve their ambitions in the upcoming season.
