Islam Hesham: Egyptian forward joins El Gouna on free transfer from El Mokawloon

El Gouna have signed Egyptian centre-forward Islam Hesham from El Mokawloon on a free transfer. The 28-year-old has agreed a contract with the Red Sea club running until 30 June 2028.

Hesham, who was born in Giza and stands at 1.80m, leaves fellow Premier League side El Mokawloon after one season, having arrived there from Petrojet, also on a free move, in July 2025. His switch strengthens El Gouna’s attacking options with a right-footed striker who is primarily deployed through the middle.

The forward featured in league, cup and play-off action last term, making 23 Premier League appearances and contributing one goal and one assist. He also played in the Egypt Cup and Championship play-offs, taking his total minutes across all competitions into the hundreds as he established himself at top-flight level.

Earlier in his career Hesham spent time with Wadi Degla’s youth ranks and had loan spells at Baladiya and Nogoom FC before stepping up to consistent senior football. His current market value is listed at €50,000, having previously peaked at €100,000 during his stint at Petrojet.

Hesham’s move to El Gouna keeps him in the Egyptian Premier League and ties him to the club for the next two seasons following the completion of his free transfer from El Mokawloon.
