Cristiano Ronaldo Vows to Play On Despite Injury Concerns
Despite a challenging season marred by injuries, Cristiano Ronaldo remains determined to continue his illustrious football career for several more years.
The Portuguese forward, who finished as the top scorer with 17 goals in the recent Champions League, battled persistent discomfort in his left thigh that lingered into the Brazil World Cup. Portuguese medical experts had warned that playing through the injury could jeopardize his career, fueling speculation about a possible early retirement.
However, speaking during a promotional event in Tokyo, the 29-year-old 2013 Ballon d’Or winner dismissed such rumors, saying:
“The injury is behind me, now I feel very good. I intend to play for another six or seven years.”
Ronaldo expressed his ambition to keep fighting for trophies with Real Madrid, targeting an impressive haul of six titles this season.
“It’s fantastic, so I’m focused on those goals. I feel good and I want to start the championship in good shape. I’m going to try to give my best this season, as always. I want to help the team and score to win titles. Those are my goals.”
For now, business goes on as usual for CR7, who remains one of football’s most prolific and determined competitors.
