Ipswich consider Tammy Abraham approach as Aston Villa striker attracts interest

England-Nigeria striker Tammy Abraham, currently at Aston Villa, has been linked with a move to Ipswich in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old centre-forward returned to Villa on 27 January 2026 after a spell at Besiktas, with the club paying €21m for his transfer. Abraham signed a contract running until 30 June 2030.

Abraham has made one appearance so far this season, playing 18 minutes in the UEFA Super Cup, and has not featured in the Premier League. Villa won the Europa League in the 2025-26 campaign, adding to Abraham’s Champions League success with Chelsea and Conference League triumph with Roma.

The proposed move would see Abraham remain in the Premier League, with Ipswich exploring the possibility of taking the striker from Villa. No transfer fee or agreement has been reported, and the interest has not been confirmed by either club.

Abraham’s current market value is listed at €18m. He joined Villa after a season in which he moved between Besiktas and Roma before making his permanent return to the English club.

The striker began his senior career at Chelsea and spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Villa, scoring 26 goals in the Championship before returning to Stamford Bridge. He has also played for Swansea and Bristol City during his career.

He remains an Aston Villa player under contract through June 2030.
