International switch confirmed: Lamine Diaby-Fadiga set to represent Guinea

Forward Lamine Diaby-Fadiga has chosen to represent Guinea at international level after FIFA approved his change of sporting nationality.

The 25-year-old striker, who was born in France to a Guinean father and an Algerian mother, had been eligible to represent several countries.

However, a ruling by the FIFA Players’ Status Chamber confirmed that the player is now authorised to play for Guinea.

Diaby-Fadiga previously represented France at youth level up to the Under-20 team, but his international future will now lie with the Guinean national side.

Strong club form attracts attention

The decision comes during what has been described as the most productive season of his professional career.

Developed in the youth system at OGC Nice before later playing for Paris FC, the forward is currently playing for Raków Częstochowa in Poland.

During the 2025–2026 campaign he has emerged as one of the club’s standout players.

Standing at 1.88 metres and known for his left-footed attacking ability, Diaby-Fadiga has scored 12 goals in all competitions this season.

Among those goals was a hat-trick in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

His performances in domestic competition have also drawn attention. In the Polish league this season, the forward has registered five goals and two assists.

The player’s form prompted interest from the Guinean national team staff, who have been monitoring his development.

New option for Guinea’s attack

Diaby-Fadiga is capable of operating in several attacking roles.

While primarily used as a striker, he can also play in an attacking midfield position, offering versatility in forward areas.

His physical presence and technical qualities are expected to provide Guinea with an additional option in attack as the national team looks to strengthen its squad.

Another player cleared for Guinea

Diaby-Fadiga is not the only player to receive approval to represent the country.

Former Germany youth international Amara Condé has also been authorised to change his sporting nationality.

The midfielder, who currently plays for SV Elversberg in Germany’s Bundesliga 2, represented Germany up to Under-20 level before receiving FIFA approval to play for Guinea.

At 29 years old, Condé could add experience to the team’s midfield.

The Guinean national side, coached by Paulo Duarte, is entering a phase of squad renewal.

The team is scheduled to play two friendly matches later this month, facing Togo on 27 March and Benin on 31 March.
