The match marked the first official outing for new Black Queens head coach, Kim Lars Björkegren. The Swedish tactician used the game to assess his squad as he works to shape the team under his leadership.
Despite the defeat, the match provided valuable insights that will help the coach going forward.
The Black Queens are currently on a training tour in Morocco and will play another friendly before returning to Ghana. The matches form part of both teams’ build-up to the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), as they fine-tune their squads ahead of the continental showdown.
Up next for the Black Queens, they will take on Moroccan women’s league side AS FAR next week.
