Interest in Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey from Saudi Pro League clubs continues to grow as the January transfer window approaches.
Partey, whose contract with Arsenal expires in the summer, has yet to agree to a renewal with the Gunners. This leaves Arsenal at risk of losing the influential midfielder for free at the end of the season. Starting January 1, Partey will be free to negotiate with clubs outside England, fueling speculation about his future.
According to information from sources, discussions between Partey’s representatives and Arsenal have not progressed significantly.
Despite this, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has remained optimistic, downplaying rumors of Partey’s departure and suggesting there would be “the right time” to discuss the midfielder’s future. Arteta praised Partey for his “consistency at the highest level.”
The Saudi Pro League is not the only potential destination for Partey, as interest is reportedly coming from top European clubs as well.
However, the lucrative offers and ambitious projects of Saudi clubs could play a key role in swaying the Ghanaian star.
With Partey’s situation unresolved, the upcoming January window will be pivotal for both the player and Arsenal.
