Inter Milan secure Franco-Ivorian midfielder Issiaka Kamate with new contract

Inter Milan have extended the stay of Franco-Ivorian midfielder Issiaka Kamate, continuing their commitment to investing in young talent within the squad.

The 21-year-old confirmed the renewal through his personal Instagram account, though the club has not disclosed the duration or financial details of the agreement.

The move comes shortly after the Nerazzurri secured fellow Franco-Ivorian defender Yvan Maye, signalling a clear strategy by the Italian giants to safeguard their most promising prospects for the future.

Kamate, who has been on the club’s books since 2020, is seen as part of a generation of players being carefully developed to eventually challenge for a place in the senior side.

Born in Aulnay-sous-Bois, France, to Ivorian parents, Kamate began his football journey at FC Montfermeil, a well-known development club in French football.

His potential quickly caught the attention of Inter’s scouts, and he was recruited into the U17 set-up five years ago.

Since then, he has steadily progressed through the youth ranks, showcasing a combination of technical quality, composure on the ball and tactical awareness that mark him out as a midfielder with significant promise.

Last season, Kamate was officially promoted to the first team squad, though Inter’s coaching staff were keen to ensure he gained competitive experience.

He was sent on loan for the first half of the campaign to Portuguese side AVS Futebol SAD, where he adapted to senior football.

For the second half of the season, he joined Serie B club Modena FC, gaining valuable minutes and continuing his development against seasoned professionals.

This summer, the midfielder returned to Inter and was assigned to the club’s U23 team, which competes in Serie C.

There, he has been a regular presence since the start of the campaign, making five appearances to date.

His most notable contribution so far came in the Coppa Serie C, where he found the net, further underlining his ability to make an impact from midfield.

Inter’s decision to extend Kamate’s contract reflects their belief in his long-term potential.

While still considered to be in the developmental stage of his career, the renewal ensures that the club retains control of his future, whether as a first-team prospect or a valuable asset on the transfer market.

According to Transfermarkt, Kamate currently carries an estimated market value of €750,000, a figure that could rise significantly should he continue his upward trajectory.

The midfielder’s career has so far been shaped by patience and gradual progression, a hallmark of Inter’s approach to nurturing talent.

His experience across multiple leagues has provided him with versatility and resilience, qualities that could serve him well as he seeks to establish himself further.

For Kamate, the extension represents both recognition of his progress and a new chapter in his professional journey.

With Inter placing emphasis on youth development, he stands as a key figure in their plans for the coming seasons, alongside the likes of Yvan Maye and other emerging talents within the system.

As the campaign unfolds, all eyes will be on whether Kamate can continue to impress in Serie C and push closer towards a permanent role in Simone Inzaghi’s senior squad.

For now, Inter Milan’s decision ensures that his future remains tied to the club, marking another step in their strategy of blending established stars with a new generation of players.
