Inter Milan have secured the signing of Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman from Atalanta, according to reports from Italy.
The Serie A giants reportedly paid around €40 million to bring the 26-year-old winger ahead of the upcoming season.
Despite Atalanta’s initial intention to retain the former Fulham attacker, Lookman was keen on making the move to Inter Milan.
Prior to finalizing the deal, the speedy and skillful winger had attracted interest from several European powerhouses including Barcelona, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, and Liverpool. However, Inter acted swiftly to seal his transfer.
Since joining Atalanta from RB Leipzig in 2022, Lookman has been a key figure for the club, contributing 52 goals and 25 assists in 118 appearances.
His consistent performances had long suggested a summer departure.
With Cristian Chivu now leading Inter, the club views Lookman as an essential component in their attacking overhaul.
Known for his versatility, blistering pace, and solid defensive work rate, Lookman fits well into the Nerazzurri’s tactical plans.
One of Lookman’s standout moments came during the 2023/24 Europa League, where he scored a memorable hat-trick to help Atalanta shock Bayer Leverkusen and progress in the competition.
