Inter Milan maintain interest in Manu Koné after failed summer bid
Inter Milan are reportedly keeping tabs on France-born midfielder of Ivorian descent, Manu Koné.
The Serie A giants attempted to sign the player from AS Roma in the summer but failed.
According to sources, Manu Koné remains high on the transfer wishlist of Inter Milan, with the club planning a second attempt to secure his services.
Reports indicate that OakTree, Inter’s ownership group, had already approved a €40 million bid for the player, and the club could return with a fresh offer next summer.
Roma, however, find themselves in a difficult financial situation. With Financial Fair Play restrictions weighing heavily on the Giallorossi, every outgoing transfer must be carefully evaluated.
Although they resisted Inter’s advances once, the €40 million fee could prove too significant to turn down, especially as the club is projected to record a €60 million loss by the end of the 2025/26 season.
This could make Koné a potential “luxury sacrifice,” as Roma may be forced to part with a key player to balance their books.
