Inter Milan tracking French-Congolese defender Joseph Kalulu ahead of potential summer transfer

Italian giants Inter Milan are closely monitoring the situation of Joseph Kalulu, with the young defender emerging as a possible transfer target ahead of the next summer window.

The left-back, currently playing for Pau FC, attracted attention from several clubs during the most recent winter transfer window.

However, a move did not materialise at the time after the club’s leadership took a firm stance on keeping the player.

With the summer transfer period approaching, the situation could now change.

Kalulu remains under contract with Pau until June 2027, but sources indicate that Inter have recently made contact with the French club to gather information about the defender’s availability.

The Serie A side are understood to have been impressed by the player’s performances and potential.

As a result, the club’s management reportedly reached out to Pau to enquire about the terms under which the defender could be allowed to leave.

Pau’s board are said to have placed a price tag of €5 million on the player should any club wish to secure his services.

Kalulu, who was born in Lyon and is of Congolese descent, previously chose to remain with Pau during the winter window in order to continue his development in Ligue 2.

At the time, staying at the club was seen as the best step for his progress.

But the possibility of a summer departure is now being considered.

The defender is believed to be open to a new challenge, particularly one that could allow him to compete in a league with a higher international profile.

Regarded as a player with significant potential, Kalulu is seen as a modern full-back capable of contributing both defensively and offensively.

Known for his ability to push forward from the left side, he frequently supports attacking movements while maintaining his defensive responsibilities.

According to Transfermarkt, the defender’s current market value stands at around €1 million.

Inter’s interest comes as the club prepares for another demanding period in Serie A, with their next fixture set to be their 29th league match of the campaign against Atalanta BC.
