Egyptian giants Al Ahly is missing the services of enterprising midfielder Ahmed Nabil Kouka for the CAF Champions League quarterfinals due to an injury setback.
Kouka returned from the March international break with a slight injury following his involvement in Egypt matches in the World Cup qualifiers.
Upon further test, it was revealed the Egyptian international sustained a strained adductor muscle ruling him out of action for days.
The 23-year-old midfielder missed the sides’ first leg tie against the Sudanese giants at the Cairo International Stadium and is expected to sit out of the return leg on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
Al Ahly goes into the return leg with a slender lead following their 1-0 troumph over Al Hilal last week.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly is hoping Kouka will return for their game against Pyramids in the Egyptian top-flight at the Air Defense Stadium.
The talented midfielder has made 20 appearances for Al Ahly across competitions this campaign.
