Egyptian Premier League giants Al Ahly are sweating over the injuries of several key players ahead of their crucial clash against rivals Zamalek next week.

In a high-stake clash on Monday, September 29, 2025, Al Ahly will play host to Zamalek at the Cairo International Stadium, with both teams yearning for victory to secure bragging right.

Al Ahly look likely to miss the services of top players for the top-liner including Karim Fouad and Mohamed Shukry and Ahmed Nabil Kouka for the game.

However, Al Ahly, who have struggled to hit form this season in the Egyptian top-flight will have to battle for points without the influential trio due to injury setbacks.

Al Ahly currently falls short in the left wing due to the unavailability of Karim Fouad and Mohamed Shukry. Meanwhile, uncertainty surrounds Ahmed Nabil Kouka’s position ahead of the game.

For Karim Fouad, he returned to training but felt pain and underwent a new medical examination, making him unavailable for the crunch clash. He will have to resume his rehabilitation program.

On the other side, Mohamed Shukry needs at least a week to return to group training, while Kouka undergoes physical and technical program to get him prepared for subsequent games, after sustaining a hamstring injury.

The record Champions League holders defeated Haras El Hodoud 3-2 on Tuesday, at the Military College Stadium, in the eighth round of the league.

While Zamalek sit top of the Egyptian Premier League table with 17 points, Al Ahly find themselves in the 4th position, accumulating 12 points after seven matches.
