Injured Nordin Amrabat to spend three weeks on the sidelines

Moroccan midfielder Nordin Amrabat will spend three weeks on the sidelines after his latest injury setback at Wydad AC.

The experienced winger picked up the injury during Wydad’s clash last Sunday against RS Berkane in the National Professional Championship. Medical examinations carried out on Monday confirmed that Amrabat sustained a muscle tear in his right thigh.

According to an informed source, the Moroccan international is expected to be ruled out for three weeks before making his return to competitive action. The timeline means he will officially miss the highly anticipated Clasico encounter against AS FAR.

Amrabat is set to follow a tailored treatment and rehabilitation programme under the close supervision of the club’s medical staff, to ensure a full recovery and a safe return to the pitch.

Wydad are scheduled to host AS FAR on Wednesday evening at the Mohammed V Stadium, with kickoff set for 10 pm. The fixture forms part of the postponed ninth round of the Professional League and comes at a crucial stage of the domestic campaign.
