Injured Naïm Sliti remains a doubt for Tunisia’s AFCON 2025 campaign

Tunisia could be forced to cope without one of their most influential players at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, with Naïm Sliti still battling fitness concerns ahead of the tournament.

Multiple sources indicate that Sliti’s involvement with the Carthage Eagles in Morocco remains uncertain, as the attacker continues to struggle physically following an injury setback. The same issue previously ruled him out of the Arab Nations Cup in Qatar, and his recovery has yet to reach a decisive stage.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his condition, head coach Sami Trabelsi has opted to name Sliti in Tunisia’s final 28-man squad for AFCON 2025, keeping the door open for a possible return.

Comprehensive medical assessments are scheduled for the coming days to properly evaluate the player’s fitness.

The outcome of those examinations will be crucial in determining whether Sliti can feature at the tournament or if the technical team will be compelled to seek a replacement before the competition gets underway.
