Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny is poised to make his comeback for Al-Jazira in their highly anticipated match against Al-Ain in the UAE Pro League.
Sidelined since November 23 due to injury, Elneny is expected to receive medical clearance in the coming days, which will determine his availability for the weekend encounter.
Currently fourth in the league standings with 17 points, Al-Jazira will face sixth-placed Al-Ain, who have played two games fewer, in what promises to be a thrilling fixture on the 10th matchday of the Emirati premier division.
Coach Hussein Ammouta is hopeful that the return of Elneny, who has made a notable impact since joining Al-Jazira this summer with one goal and one assist in eight appearances, will strengthen the team’s prospects.
Should Elneny remain unfit for Sunday’s game, he may still feature in Al-Jazira’s Emirates League Cup quarterfinal clash against Al-Ain, with the first leg slated for December 22 and the return leg scheduled for December 30.
