Al Ahly’s Mohamed Hany is poised to make his long-awaited return to action after spending over three months recovering from an injury.
The 28-year-old defender, a key figure for both Al Ahly and the Egyptian national team, is back in full training under the watchful eye of head coach Marcel Koller.
Hany sustained the injury during the African Super Cup clash against Zamalek SC in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and has since been sidelined, undergoing rehabilitation and individual training.
His recovery marks a significant milestone, as he now rejoins his teammates for group sessions ahead of Al Ahly’s upcoming Egyptian Premier League match against Smouha SC on January 7.
The return of Hany is a timely boost for the Red Devils, who have been grappling with inconsistent performances in recent weeks. The team’s defensive options have been stretched thin, with other key players like Ali Maâloul and Omar Kamal also sidelined by injuries.
Hany’s availability could provide much-needed stability to the backline as Al Ahly looks to strengthen its position in the league.
The clash against Smouha SC on matchday five of the Egyptian championship will serve as a test for Hany’s readiness to compete at the highest level once again.
