FIFA President Gianni Infantino hails Egypt’s historic 2026 World Cup campaign

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has praised Egypt’s historic performance at the 2026 World Cup, describing the Pharaohs’ campaign in North America as exceptional.

Egypt reached the knockout stage of the World Cup for the first time in their history before claiming their maiden victory at the tournament against Australia in the round of 32.

The Pharaohs’ memorable run eventually ended with a narrow 3-2 defeat by Argentina in the round of 16.
