Ghana star Mohammed Kudus has turned down a highly lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League.
According to Sky Sports, the West Ham United forward rejected an offer that would have tripled his current salary.
It is understood that an unnamed Saudi club was ready to meet West Ham’s £70 million valuation for the 24-year-old, but Kudus declined.
Despite a somewhat mixed campaign last season, Kudus impressed with flashes of brilliance in his debut Premier League season.
He registered five goals and three assists in 32 league appearances for the Hammers.
The former Ajax man, who continues to be a standout figure for Ghana’s Black Stars, is now reportedly on the radar of Chelsea.
The London club is said to be monitoring his situation closely ahead of the summer transfer window.
The decision by Mohammed Kudus to reject the Saudi move is seen as a big statement, signalling the player’s intention to stay in Europe, where he will rub shoulders with the best in the world.
