Imperia sign Netherlands-DR Congo midfielder Richie Musaba on free transfer
Dutch-DR Congo midfielder Richie Musaba has joined Italian Serie D side Imperia from Slovak club AS Trencin on a free transfer.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has signed a contract with Imperia running until 30 June 2027. He moves to the Serie D – A club after a short spell in Slovakia, having joined Trencin from Estonian side FCI Levadia in January.
Musaba made the switch to Trencin on a free transfer on 29 January 2026, but his time with the Nike Liga club lasted less than seven months. He now begins a new chapter in Italy with Imperia, who have secured his services without a transfer fee.
Born in Beuningen in the Netherlands, Musaba holds Dutch and DR Congo nationality. He is listed as an attacking midfielder and is primarily right-footed, giving Imperia an option in the central attacking areas of their midfield.
Before moving to Slovakia, Musaba spent the 2024 season with Levadia, where he won the Estonian championship and Estonian Cup. He also lifted the Estonian Super Cup in 2025, completing a run of domestic honours with the Tallinn club.
His move to Levadia came in February 2024 after a period without a club. Earlier in his career, Musaba played in the Netherlands for Fortuna Sittard, TOP Oss, FC Dordrecht and Vitesse, progressing through Vitesse’s youth system after beginning his development at NEC.
Musaba’s most recent competitive record came with Trencin in the 2026-27 Nike Liga campaign, where he had not made an appearance after the opening two possible matches before completing his move to Imperia.
The transfer brings the midfielder to Italy for the first time in his senior career and gives him a contract with Imperia through the end of June 2027. His market value is listed at €300,000, while the deal itself was completed as a free transfer.
Musaba has therefore left AS Trencin and signed for Imperia, with the move taking effect on 14 August 2026.
