Imam Jagne: Sweden-Gambia midfielder joins Kifisia on loan from IFK Goteborg
Sweden-Gambia midfielder Imam Jagne has joined Greek side Kifisia on loan from IFK Goteborg. The 22-year-old central midfielder moves to the Super League 1 club on a temporary deal dated 16 July 2026.
Jagne, who plays primarily in central midfield and is right-footed, arrives in Greece after a season-and-a-half with Goteborg. He had joined the Allsvenskan club from Mjallby AIF in January 2025 for €440,000 and now heads abroad for his first spell in senior football outside Scandinavia.
Kifisia have taken Jagne on loan until 30 June 2027, when he is scheduled to return to Goteborg at the end of the agreement. His current market value is listed at €400,000, and his contract with the Greek club runs to the same date as his loan.
Born in October 2003 and standing at 1.84m, Jagne has built up solid top-flight experience in Sweden. Across league and cup competitions there, he has made more than 80 senior appearances, including 68 in the Allsvenskan, scoring five goals and providing four assists.
Jagne’s path to this move included a stint in England with Everton’s youth set-up, having left Hacken for Everton’s under-18 side in 2020 for €1.5m before returning to Sweden with Mjallby in 2023. His performances there paved the way for his transfer to Goteborg and, now, this loan switch to Kifisia.
The deal means Jagne will spend the 2026-27 season in the Greek Super League 1 before his loan from IFK Goteborg to Kifisia expires in June 2027.
