Imam Ashour’s red-hot form for Al Ahly has caught the attention of top European clubs, with the Egyptian midfielder now waiting for the right offer to make a big move next season.
French and Italian sides are said to be closely monitoring Ashour, whose standout campaign has made him one of the most sought-after names in African football, according to Turkish journalist Akram Konur.
Ashour’s impact this season has been massive. He bagged five goals in the African Champions League, sharing the tournament’s top scorer spot with Ibrahim Adel of Pyramids. His performances have played a huge role in Al Ahly’s strong run in the competition.
The Cairo giants signed Ashour from Danish club FC Midtjylland in the summer of 2023 for $3.5 million. The midfielder had stints with Ghazal El Mahalla, Border Guard, and Zamalek before joining Al Ahly.
Now, with his name buzzing across transfer circles, the 26-year-old could be set for another European chapter this time at a higher level.
