France-born attacker of Ivorian descent, Désiré Doué, has stressed that he wants to create his path amid his comparison to Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe.
Although the talented forward acknowledges the outstanding quality of Mbappe, he insists he does not enjoy the comparison.
“I’ve been told about the comparisons, but I’m Désiré Doué, Kylian is Kylian. He’s a sensational player and has already done a lot in football. I’m trying to create my own path,” Désiré Doué said in an interview with Téléfoot.
The comparisons between the two players have largely been driven by their early impact in French football and the circumstances surrounding their moves to Paris Saint-Germain. Both Doué and Mbappé joined the Ligue 1 champions at the age of 18.
Despite not being a regular starter under Luis Enrique this season, the 19-year-old Doué has made the most of his opportunities, registering eight goals and eight assists across 37 appearances.
Courtesy of his impressive performances for PSG in the French Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League, Désiré Doué has been tipped for greatness.
