‘I’m happy and satisfied’ – Ivorian striker Sébastien Haller reacts to permanent switch to FC Utrecht
Ivorian international Sébastien Haller has reacted to his permanent move from Borussia Dortmund to FC Utrecht.
The experienced attacker signed a one-year deal with the Dutch Eredivisie outfit on Monday, August 18.
“Sébastien Haller has signed with FC Utrecht. The 31-year-old striker has signed a permanent deal from Borussia Dortmund and is currently under contract until the summer of 2026,” the Dutch club announced in an official statement.
Speaking in an interview after sealing the move, Haller said he is satisfied and happy.
“I’m happy and satisfied. Everything, really. There was a fair amount of interest from other clubs this summer. But for me, there was only one ideal scenario, and that was FC Utrecht. We’ve built something great this past year, and I want to be a part of it for longer. If you look at what we’ve done in Europe: fantastic. Good matches, big results. The only thing you think is: I want to be there, to help the team. And now I’ve succeeded.”
On his return to FC Utrecht, Sébastien Haller is expected to use his experience to help the club in the 2025/26 football season.
