Ilyes Mzoughi leaves Kaizer Chiefs as contract expires

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed another key departure from their technical setup, as goalkeeper coach Ilyes Mzoughi will leave the club upon expiry of his two-year contract.

The Soweto giants announced the news via their official social media platforms today.

This follows the earlier exit of co-coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze, marking a significant reshuffle after the 2025/26 season. Mzoughi oversaw the goalkeeping department for the past two seasons and was part of the coaching staff that guided the club to Nedbank Cup glory last term.

“Goalkeeper coach Ilyes Mzoughi is leaving Kaizer Chiefs as his two-year contract with the Club comes to an end,” the club stated. “Wishing coach Mzoughi all the best in the future.”

Ilyes Mzoughi worked closely with the club’s goalkeepers through a season that saw mixed league results but ended with cup success. His departure suggests the new coaching setup will likely bring in fresh faces for the goalkeeper coach role as Amakhosi rebuild.
