Ilano Silva Timas: Cape Verde-Dutch winger joins Excelsior from MVV Maastricht

Excelsior have signed Cape Verde-Dutch winger Ilano Silva Timas from MVV Maastricht, with the 23-year-old agreeing a contract at the Eredivisie club until 30 June 2029. The Rotterdam-born left winger returns to the city of his birth after two seasons in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.

Silva Timas, who is comfortable on either foot and stands at 1.85m, moves to Excelsior on a permanent deal following his spell in Maastricht. His switch comes with his market value currently listed at €350,000, reflecting his rise through the Dutch leagues in recent campaigns.

The attacker arrives with solid experience in the second tier, having made 69 appearances in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, scoring 10 goals and providing 13 assists. He has also featured in the KNVB Beker, where he has found the net once in two outings, and gained further senior minutes in the Tweede Divisie and promotion play-offs earlier in his career.

Before joining MVV in 2024, Silva Timas played for Excelsior Maassluis, progressing from their under-19 and under-21 sides into the first team and later spending time with Smitshoek. His move to MVV followed a free transfer back to Excelsior Maassluis earlier in the 2024–25 season, underlining a career built steadily through Dutch club football.

Silva Timas now commits his long-term future to Excelsior, completing a return to top-flight football on a deal running through to the summer of 2029.
