Ihlas Bebou bids farewell as Hoffenheim say thank you
TSG Hoffenheim have confirmed that Ihlas Bebou will leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires, officially bringing his six-year spell in the Kraichgau to a close.
The forward joined Hoffenheim from Hannover 96 in 2019 and has since been one of their most influential attacking players.
Over the years, Bebou has become a familiar figure in the Bundesliga, making 160 league appearances and ranking among the club’s top ten record players in the top flight.
For Hoffenheim, the Togo international has scored 36 goals and provided 20 assists, regularly using his pace and direct style to give their attack an extra edge. This season started with injury problems, but he fought his way back to feature in 17 competitive matches.
TSG managing director Andreas Schicker paid tribute to the 32-year-old, saying: “He has repeatedly proven his qualities and was a guarantee for important goals for many years.” On Saturday, Bebou will be officially honoured around the home game against Werder Bremen, marking a warm goodbye to a long-serving fan favourite.
