Former Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has offered advice to Eberechi Eze as transfer speculation intensifies around the highly-rated winger.
Pardew believes that if Eze does decide to leave Selhurst Park this summer, a move to Tottenham Hotspur would be a better fit than joining Arsenal.
Eze, who is of Nigerian heritage, remains a key target for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side after an impressive season in which he scored 14 goals and registered 11 assists across all competitions.
Arsenal have already held discussions with the player’s representatives, though no formal approach has been made to Crystal Palace. Spurs, meanwhile, are monitoring developments and are expected to step up their interest shortly.
Speaking to The Final Word, Pardew said: “So I think Eze will stay and I don’t think that’s a bad thing because I think he’s one of those he doesn’t get stressed out by things. He’s quite a cool guy, he’s quite grounded.”
The 27-year-old has blossomed into one of the Premier League’s most exciting attacking talents since joining Palace from QPR in 2020.
Though Pardew acknowledged that Eze could further elevate Arsenal’s title chances, he suggested Tottenham might be the better destination if a move does materialise.
“I think he should go to Spurs if he leaves the great Crystal Palace,” Pardew added.
Eze, who has a £67.5 million release clause and a contract until 2027, was previously released by Arsenal at age 13. With 12 England caps to his name, his next step could be crucial in shaping his top-flight future.
