Idris Saidu: Nigerian left-back joins Barau FC from Niger Tornadoes

Nigerian defender Idris Saidu has joined Barau FC from fellow NPFL side Niger Tornadoes, with the left-back making the move ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

Saidu, 22, switches clubs within the Nigerian top flight and is expected to operate in his natural role on the left side of defence. The transfer has been completed as Barau look to shape their squad for the new season, with Saidu’s arrival confirmed on 21 July 2026.

Primarily a left-back and left-footed, Saidu adds depth and competition in a key area of the pitch for Barau FC. His move follows a spell at Niger Tornadoes, where he established himself sufficiently to earn a transfer within the league.

Saidu, born on 25 August 2003, is listed with a market value of €50,000 as of late June 2026, underlining his status as a developing defender within the domestic game. The transfer keeps him in familiar surroundings in the NPFL, but presents a new challenge at a different club environment.

Barau FC have now secured Saidu as part of their squad planning for the forthcoming season, with the Nigerian full-back officially registered as a Barau player from 21 July 2026.
