Idris Mohamed: Comoros-French defender seals €300k move to FC Metz from Le Puy

Comoros-French centre-back Idris Mohamed has joined FC Metz from Le Puy FC in a permanent €300,000 transfer. The 22-year-old defender has signed a contract with the Ligue 2 club running until 30 June 2030.

Mohamed arrives at Metz after a standout spell in Ligue 3 with Le Puy, where he featured regularly at the heart of their defence. Standing at 1.96m and operating primarily as a right-footed centre-back, he offers significant aerial presence and physicality at the back.

The Aix-en-Provence-born defender only joined Le Puy in 2025, moving on a free transfer from FC Rousset. His rise has been steady through the French lower leagues, with previous experience at Marignane’s youth and reserve sides and a spell as French fifth-tier champion on his CV.

Across league and cup competitions, Mohamed has built up more than 80 senior appearances, including consistent game time in the Coupe de France. His performances at that level have now earned him a first move into Ligue 2 and the longest contract of his career.

Mohamed, who holds both Comoros and French nationality, becomes one of the latest additions to Metz’s defensive options as they prepare for the new campaign. His market value is currently listed at €350,000, placing the agreed €300,000 fee in line with his emerging reputation in the French game.

The deal is completed with Mohamed now officially registered as an FC Metz player until 2030.
