Icelandic outfit Vestri capture Senegal defender Pape Abou Cissé
Icelandic outfit, Vestri have successfully secured the signing of Senegalese international Pape Abou Cissé.
Pape Abou Cissé, who hasn’t played for a while, returns to the pitch after a period away from top-level football.
His last official match was in November 2024, with Al-Shamal in Qatar, a final experience before gradually fading from the spotlight.
The 30-year-old defender, formerly of AS Saint-Étienne and Olympiacos, is committed to providing a new defensive foundation for the Icelandic first division side.
The move marks the return of the Senegalese defender, formerly of AS Pikine, who also played for Ajaccio and Saint-Étienne. The signing of the contract was made possible thanks to the involvement of Sergine Fall and Henri Camara, the player’s agent.
The Senegalese international’s arrival in Iceland is confirmed and promising, but the duration of his contract has not yet been specified.
