Ibrahima Coulibaly: Guinean forward joins Al-Shamal SC from Al-Khor SC

Guinea striker Ibrahima Coulibaly has joined Al-Shamal SC from Al-Khor SC, making the step up from the Qatari Second Division to the Stars League. The 19-year-old centre-forward has signed a contract with Al-Shamal running until 30 June 2030.

Coulibaly moves after a spell with Al-Khor, where he has been developing since arriving from Racing 92’s under-19 side. His switch to Al-Shamal marks a rapid rise for a player who only left youth football earlier in 2026. The deal is a completed transfer between the Qatari clubs, with no fee disclosed by either side.

Born on 1 March 2007, Coulibaly operates primarily as a central striker and is regarded as an attacking option through the middle. His current market valuation stands at around €100,000, underlining Al-Shamal’s decision to commit to a four-year agreement as they look to strengthen their forward line for the upcoming Stars League campaign.

The move also represents a significant change in level for the Guinean, with Al-Shamal competing in Qatar’s top tier after Al-Khor’s participation in the second division. Coulibaly’s progression from youth football in 2025-26 to a long-term contract in the Stars League in 2026-27 reflects a swift transition into the professional game.

Coulibaly’s transfer to Al-Shamal SC is now complete, with the forward contracted to the club until the end of the 2029-30 season.
