Ibrahima Ba: Strasbourg eye move for Senegal defender from Famalicao
Senegal centre-back Ibrahima Ba of Famalicao is attracting interest from Ligue 1 side Strasbourg in a potential summer move. The 21-year-old, who is under contract with the Liga Portugal club until 30 June 2030, has emerged as a target as Strasbourg weigh up defensive reinforcements.
Ba’s rapid rise in Portugal has sharpened attention across Europe, with his market value currently listed at €12m. He made 23 league appearances for Famalicao in the most recent Liga Portugal campaign, scoring once and adding an assist while clocking 1,757 minutes, establishing himself as a regular in the heart of their defence.
Strasbourg’s interest marks a possible return to French football for Ba following a brief spell with Valenciennes in Ligue 2 earlier in his career. The defender, born in Boune, Senegal and standing at 1.90m, joined Famalicao’s first team in July 2025 after initially arriving at the club a year earlier from AJEL Rufisque to link up with their under-23 side.
That step up has been mirrored by growing responsibility at senior level, including outings in the Taca de Portugal alongside his league commitments. Famalicao’s strong contractual position and Ba’s long-term deal mean any negotiation is likely to focus heavily on valuation, with Strasbourg expected to need a significant offer to test the Portuguese club’s resolve.
As things stand, Ba remains a key part of Famalicao’s plans and is tied to the club for another four years, leaving Strasbourg to decide whether to firm up their interest in the coming weeks.
