Ibrahim Mbaye: PSG’s Franco-Senegalese winger linked with Bayer Leverkusen move

Paris Saint-Germain’s Franco-Senegalese winger Ibrahim Mbaye is being linked with a move to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, with discussions around a potential deal understood to be at an exploratory stage.

The 18-year-old, who represents Senegal and was born in Trappes, is currently under contract at PSG until 30 June 2028, placing the French champions in a strong position over his future. An estimated valuation of around €30 million has been discussed as a reference point, though there is not yet any indication that formal terms have been agreed between the clubs. Internal assessments rate the chances of a move at just under 50%, suggesting the situation remains finely balanced.

Leverkusen are thought to be monitoring Mbaye after his emergence in PSG’s first-team squad, where he wears the No. 49 shirt and operates primarily as a right winger. He stepped up from Paris Saint‐Germain’s U23 side to the senior team in July 2025, continuing a progression that has kept him within the club’s structure since joining from Versailles as a youth player.

Mbaye has also featured on the global stage, making four appearances and scoring once at the 2026 World Cup, underlining his growing importance at international level for Senegal. At club level he was part of back-to-back UEFA Champions League-winning squads with PSG in 2024–25 and 2025–26, adding further weight to his profile in the market.

For now, PSG are under no pressure to sell, with Mbaye tied down for another two seasons beyond the coming campaign and firmly embedded in the first-team picture in Paris.
