Ibrahim Mbaye: Liverpool linked with move for PSG and Senegal winger

Ibrahim Mbaye, the Senegal and France youth international currently at Paris Saint-Germain, has been linked with a move to Liverpool as the Premier League club explore attacking options for the future. The 18-year-old right winger is under contract at PSG until 30 June 2028 but has emerged as a potential target after breaking into the first-team set-up in Paris.

Liverpool’s interest comes at a time when Mbaye’s value has risen sharply, with the forward now rated at around €30m following his elevation from PSG’s youth ranks last summer. He stepped up to the senior squad on 1 July 2025 after progressing through the club’s academy and reserve sides, having first joined PSG from Versailles as a youth player in 2018.

Born in Trappes and predominantly right-footed, Mbaye has already experienced a major international tournament, making four appearances and scoring once at the 2026 World Cup. His performances there added to a season in which he was part of a PSG squad that retained the Ligue 1 title and won a second successive Champions League in 2025-26.

Mbaye has been involved in a highly decorated period for PSG, collecting domestic and European honours including back-to-back French championships and continental titles, as well as success at youth level with Paris Saint-Germain U19.

Any move would require Liverpool to negotiate with PSG, with no release clause or impending contract expiry to force a sale. With two years remaining on his current deal and his market valuation reflecting his rapid rise, PSG are under no immediate pressure to part with the winger.
