Ibrahim Maza: AC Milan eye move for Leverkusen and Algeria midfielder

AC Milan are considering a move for Algeria and Germany attacking midfielder Ibrahim Maza from Bayer Leverkusen. The 20-year-old, who wears No 30 for the Bundesliga club, is under contract until 30 June 2030 but has emerged as a potential target for the Serie A side.

Maza is currently valued at around €45m and the chances of a deal this summer are being rated at about 15%, indicating that Milan’s interest is at an early stage and any transfer would require significant negotiation with Leverkusen. The German-born midfielder joined Leverkusen from Hertha BSC on 1 July 2025 for a €12m fee and has since pushed his way into the first-team picture.

At senior level in the Bundesliga, Maza has made 30 appearances, scoring four goals and providing five assists, and he has also featured in the UEFA Champions League. His performances have come alongside increased exposure on the international stage, with the midfielder starting all four of his country’s matches at the 2026 World Cup and playing 98% of available minutes.

Maza’s contract length, age and recent rise in market value mean Leverkusen are under no pressure to sell, and Milan would likely need to submit a substantial offer to test the German club’s resolve. With four years remaining on his deal, Leverkusen retain a strong bargaining position should any formal bid arrive.
