Ibrahim Kargbo Jr. has completed a permanent move from Belarusian side BATE Borisov to Kosovo’s Prishtina e Re on a free transfer, signing a contract running from 2026-02-03 to 2027-06-30. The 26-year-old centre-forward arrives with a current market value of €50k and becomes one of the most high-profile attacking additions to the Superliga e Kosovës side in this window.
The deal ends Kargbo Jr.’s spell in the Vysheyshaya Liga with BATE and marks the latest step in a career that has already taken him across several European leagues. Prishtina e Re secure the services of a 1.90 m right-footed striker whose primary role is through the middle, adding height and physical presence to their front line as they look to strengthen their attacking options in Kosovo’s top flight.
Born in Freetown and holding both Belgium and Sierra Leone nationality, Kargbo Jr. arrives with considerable international experience at club level. Before joining BATE, he represented Dnepr Mogilev in Belarus, FK Jedinstvo Ub in Serbia, NK Solin in Croatia and NK Celje in Slovenia, following earlier spells in Ukraine with Dynamo Kyiv and Olimpik Donetsk, as well as time in Cyprus with Doxa Katokopias. His senior career was preceded by youth stints in England with Reading FC Youth and Crystal Palace U18, underlining a development path through multiple football cultures and tactical systems.
The forward’s latest switch continues a pattern of short-term stops and mid-season moves. Since leaving Belgian side KSV Roeselare in 2020 for Dynamo Kyiv, Kargbo Jr. has alternated between permanent transfers and loans, including a loan cycle between Dynamo Kyiv and Olimpik Donetsk, and later between Dynamo Kyiv and NK Celje. That sequence has given him exposure to the Ukrainian Premier League, Slovenia’s PrvaLiga, Croatia’s second tier, Serbia’s set-up and Belarus’s top division, building a profile as a well-travelled attacking option.
At BATE, his market value peaked at €100k in mid-2025 before settling at €50k by the end of the year, according to Transfermarkt data. The free transfer to Prishtina e Re suggests the Kosovan club have identified an opportunity to add an experienced centre-forward without paying a fee, while offering the player a new platform after a period of fluctuating valuations and frequent moves.
For Prishtina e Re, the signing of a forward with experience in multiple European leagues aligns with an ambition to increase competitiveness in the Superliga e Kosovës and benefit from his physical profile and attacking versatility. For Kargbo Jr., the confirmed move opens another chapter abroad and presents a chance to reassert his value, stabilise his career and potentially use Kosovo’s top flight as a springboard for future opportunities.
