Ibrahim Adel handed first Nordsjælland start of season against Randers
FC Nordsjælland head coach Jens Olsen has named Ibrahim Adel in his starting XI for the first time this season, with the Egyptian included from the beginning against Randers FC on Sunday.
The Danish League fixture is being played at Nordsjælland’s stadium and comes in the second round of the campaign. Adel had previously featured twice this season, but both appearances came from the substitutes’ bench. His inclusion in the starting line-up represents his first start of the current season.
Olsen’s selection places Adel in a front three alongside Lamine Sadio and Prince Amoako. The decision gives the forward an opportunity to make a greater impact from the opening whistle as Nordsjælland seek their first win of the campaign.
Andreas Hansen starts in goal, with Steven Acquah, Tobias Salquist and Caleb Yirenkyi forming the defensive line.
The midfield consists of Juho Lahtinenmaki, Mark Brink, Nicklas Røjkjær and Runar Norheim. Adel, Sadio and Amoako complete the attacking line-up.
Nordsjælland began the season with a 1-1 draw against Horsens. They now face Randers FC in their second league match, with Adel’s promotion to the starting XI the main change highlighted in Olsen’s team announcement.
The full Nordsjælland starting line-up is:
Goalkeeper: Andreas Hansen
Defenders: Steven Acquah, Tobias Salquist, Caleb Yirenkyi
Midfielders: Juho Lahtinenmaki, Mark Brink, Nicklas Røjkjær, Runar Norheim
