Ibra Camara joins Grindavik on free transfer from UD Barbastro

Spanish-Guinean midfielder Ibra Camara has joined Icelandic club Grindavik from UD Barbastro on a free transfer.

The 31-year-old central midfielder completed the move on 31 July 2026, switching from Spain’s Segunda Federacion – Gr. II to Grindavik’s Lengjudeild. Camara’s arrival gives the Icelandic club a new midfield option as he begins the next chapter of a career that has taken him between Spain and Iceland.

Camara most recently represented UD Barbastro, joining the club as a free agent in July 2025. His spell there preceded his move to Grindavik, with the transfer bringing an end to his time in Spanish football at the club.

The midfielder previously played in Iceland for Njardvik, whom he joined from Spanish side CD Ebro in July 2023. He left Njardvik in March 2025 before moving on to UD Barbastro, also as a free agent.

Earlier in his career, Camara had spells with Bouzas, CD Teruel, AD Sabinanigo and Andorra CF. His move to Bouzas came from CD Teruel in January 2022, while he joined CD Teruel from AD Sabinanigo in July 2019. He began that sequence of clubs with Andorra CF before switching to AD Sabinanigo in July 2018.

Camara was born in Conakry and holds Spanish and Guinean nationality. Standing 1.80m tall and favouring his right foot, he is listed as a central midfielder.

His recorded market value was €25,000 at the time of the move, although Grindavik paid no transfer fee for his arrival. The transfer was completed on 31 July, with Camara now registered as a Grindavik player for the 2026-27 season.

Camara has therefore left UD Barbastro and joined Grindavik as a free agent.
